Plans for tonight: Ready for kickoff

• It’s opening night for both the Utah Utes (playing Northern Colorado at Rice-Eccles Stadium, Salt Lake City, starting at 5:15) and the Brigham Young University Cougars (hosting the Cougars of Washington State at LaVell Edwards Stadium, Provo, beginning at 8:15). For ticket availability, go to the Utah website or the BYU website.
• The rapper Common closes out the Twilight Concert Series, at Pioneer Park, 300 West and 300 South, Salt Lake City. Opening act: Aloe Blacc. Show starts at 7; gates and Twilight Market open at 5. Tickets are $5, at the gate.
• Hard rock/metal band Bobaflex performs at Burts Tiki Lounge, 726 S. State St., Salt Lake City. Show starts at 8. Tickets are $10, at Smith’s Tix.
