There are lots of hopeful rookies trying to secure a spot on the Miami Dolphins' line-up, but only a few of them get profiled on HBO's reality show "Hard Knocks."

So why is tight end Les Brown, a former player at Judge Memorial and Highland high schools who once attended Westminster College (and was profiled recently by the Tribune's Gordon Monson), getting so much attention on the show?

Well, it could be his hot girlfriend.

That's the theory put forward by SI.com blogger Jimmy Traina, as he put Brown's significant other, Jamie Crandall, in the "Lovely Lady of the Day" slot on his "Hot Clicks" blog today.

Crandall was Miss Utah USA 2011 (the first Latina to hold that title), and is a model with several magazine and commercial shoots to her credit.
