Here's what's happening today in pop culture:

• CNN's Piers Morgan called embattled Rep. Todd Akin (R-Mo.) a "gutless little twerp" for bailing on an interview Monday night — and then showed the empty chair where Akin would have sat. In response, the chair now has two Twitter accounts, and Morgan got more attention than when he talks to flesh-and-blood guests. [Poynter.org]

• We say our goodbyes to Phyllis Diller, who was telling "domestic goddess" jokes before Roseanne was even born. Diller died Monday at the age of 95. [Los Angeles Times]

• NBC has won the rights to Michael J. Fox's under-development sitcom, promising to make and air 22 episodes before a pilot has been shot. [Vulture]
