• Composer Marvin Hamlisch has died at the age of 68. Hamlisch won Oscars for composing Barbra Streisand's "The Way We Were" and arranging Scott Joplin's piano rags for "The Sting." He won a Tony and a Pulitzer for "A Chorus Line," and won Grammys and Emmys for his work. [The Wrap]
• Another notable obituary: The art critic Robert Hughes, the bigger-than-life Australian who wrote for three decades for Time magazine and hosted the groundbreaking TV minisesries "The Shock of the New," died at the age of 74. [The New York Times]
• Mark Cuban's Magnet Releasing, usually known for horror movies, will release - in video-on-demand and a limited theatrical run - a right-wing attack against the Occupy Wall Street movement, one of the final works by the ethically suspect conservative blogger Andrew Breitbart.
