• A one-night only screening of "Shut Up and Play the Hits," a documentary/concert film about LCD Soundsystem's final performance, happens at the Tower Theatre, 876 E. 900 South, Salt Lake City. Show starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $8.75, at the Tower box office.
• Seattle psychedelic band Beat Connection performs at Kilby Court, 741 S. Kilby Court (330 West), Salt Lake City. Opening acts: White Arrows, Teen Daze. Show starts at 7. Tickets are $8, at 24Tix.
• Country-rock group The Band of Heathens performs at The State Room, 638 S. State St., Salt Lake City. Opening act: Bryon Friedman. Show starts at 8. Tickets are $14, at the State Room website.
