Here's what's happening today in pop culture:
• The great Andy Griffith died this morning at his North Carolina home, at the age of 86. And while everyone will remember Griffith for his signature TV work, on "The Andy Griffith Show" and "Matlock," The Cricket offers two viewing suggestions where Griffith was cast against type: As the folksy yet ambitious Lonesome Rhodes, who becomes a megalomaniacal media figure in Elia Kazan's "A Face in the Crowd," and his small role as an irascilble diner customer in Adrienne Shelly's sweet comedy "Waitress."
