Plans for tonight: Avett Bros. at Gallivan

• The Utah Jazz throws an NBA Draft party at Energy Solutions Arena, 301 W. Soutn Temple, Salt Lake City. Fans can have their pictures taken with NuSkin Jazz Dancers and with Bear, and get a draft guide. The first 1,000 fans will receive a free hot dog and a voucher for a Salt Lake Bees baseball game. There's also a prize giveaway, including tickets to a Jazz/Miami Heat game. Doors open at 5 p.m.; the draft coverage starts at 5:30 p.m. Free.
• Roots-rock band The Avett Brothers perform at the Gallivan Center, 239 S. Main St., Salt Lake City. Opening act: City and Colour. Show starts at 7. Tickets are $40, at Smith's Tix.
• Metal band Valient Thorr performs at In the Venue, 219 S. 600 West, Salt Lake City. Opening acts: Holy Grail, Royal Thunder, The Kickass. Show starts at 7. Tickets are $15, at Smith's Tix.
