• "G.I. Joe: Retaliation," the heavily-hyped sequel that was set to open June 29, has suddenly been pushed back to March 29, 2013. The studio's official line is that it wants a good 3-D conversion, which will boost the international box office. The probable real reason: Fear of bombing like the last Hasbro-linked movie, "Battleship." [The Hollywood Reporter]

• A New York Times profile of "Big Bang Theory" star Jim Parsons mentions, in passing, that he's gay. This is being treated as big news on the Internet, for some strange reason. [The New York Times; Washington Post]
