• Rocker Jack White will write the music for director Gore Verbinski's "The Lone Ranger." How will his version of the "William Tell Overture" go? [Variety, via Vulture]
• Don't get your hopes up about that remake of "The Flintstones" to be made by "Family Guy" creator Seth MacFarlane. [The Hollywood Reporter]
• Ken Burns is aiming to get his latest documentary, "The Central Park Five" (about the infamous 1989 "wilding" attack, which Burns co-directed with his daughter Sarah and her husband, David McMahon), into movie theaters - something he hasn't done with a film since 1985.
