Here's what's happenng today in pop culture:

• The rumors are starting about next season's "Saturday Night Live" - namely that the show's unassailable MVP (and, by the way, movie star and Oscar-nominated screenwriter), Kristen Wiig, won't be coming back. Neither, reportedly, will Andy Samberg and Jason Sudeikis. [New York Daily News]

• Chinese artist and dissident Ai Weiwei has been forced to shut down four webcams inside his house, part of a personal surveillance project that has riled up Chinese authorities. [BBC]

• Ryan Gosling saved somebody's life. No, really. [Vanity Fair]
