El Segundo, Calif. • The Jazz will play the Lakers twice over the next four days, but just who you'll see suiting up for L.A. is a little unknown right now.Nick Young is out with a torn ligament in his right thumb.Guards Xavier Henry (back spasms) and Jordan Clarkson (left calf strain) will both likely miss tomorrow's game with injury. As will Ryan Kelly (left hamstring) and Jeremy Lin (left ankle sprain), though both men are targeting a return to action on Sunday night against Utah.Lin, who has been dealing with an ankle injury, was running at Wednesday's practice and said he'll start cutting on the injured ankle tomorrow. But the biggest news out of Lakers' practice today was more bad news about point guard Steve Nash."Steve today kind of hurt his back," coach Byron Scott said. "He had a little bit of a set back. Just kind of carrying some bags and stuff and he hurt his back."Nash, 40, has been dealing with back and nerve pain for some time. He only played 50 games in 2012-13 and only 15 last season."It definitely gives me more perspective on stuff," Lin said of Nash's troubles. "Sometimes, you take your youth for granted or your health for granted. Even this injury. It's just like, I haven't sprained an ankle and sat for probably a year and a half. Then to see him fight for his body. Wake up, and he's always in the training room. It definitely sucks to watch it. I'm sure it's even tougher to go through it. But he's being very positive."Scott said he had "no idea" if Nash would be available to play against the Jazz this week.Kobe Bryant, meanwhile, seems likely to see action."He wants to play every game. He wants to play every preseason game. He wants to play every regular season [game]," Scott said. But Bryant and his coach have discussed how many minutes the aging superstar feels comfortable playing each night."All we did is really talk about minute-wise what he felt he was good at and what I kind of felt. Came to an agreement about that," Scott told reporters. "You're not going to get told what it is, so don't even ask."The two sides numbers weren't identical to begin with."We were pretty close," Scott said. "His number was lower than mine, which surprised me. But it also helped me as well."The coach did say the number was "between 30 and 40."— Aaron Falk
