Utah Jazz Notes

Jazz reportedly 'closing in' on deal with FA guard Toure' Murry

The Jazz and Toure' Murry's camp have been in talks for a while.

We first mentioned that Utah might be targeting the free agent guard a few weeks ago. At the time, however, a source said Murry was waiting on a decision from the Miami Heat.

That wait seems to be over.

Now ESPN's Marc Stein is reporting that the Jazz and Murry are "closing in" on a deal.

A 6-foot-5 guard out of Wichita State, Murry averaged 2.7 points per game in 51 appearances last year for the Knicks.

Murry is young, just 24 years old and entering his second year in the league. He would join a group of backcourt backups that includes second-year guards Carrick Felix and Ian Clark, whose contract became guaranteed on Aug. 1.
