Al Jefferson receives All-NBA first team vote

All-NBA teams were announced Thursday and it played out about how you expected: Kevin Durant, LeBron James, Chris Paul, and so on. No Jazz players listed until you get down to the Other Players Receiving Votes category.

Utah Jazz center Al Jefferson received 20 points in the voting formula. Jefferson received the ninth most points among players not selected to an All-NBA team, which are voted on by media members covering each. For transparency, here again is my ballot from April.

Despite finishing eighth among centers, behind Tim Duncan, Marc Gasol, Dwight Howard, Brook Lopez, Joakim Noah, Chris Bosh and Al Horford, one media member gave Big Al a first-team vote.

That means Jefferson, who has never been an All-Star, had one more first-team vote than second-team selection Blake Griffin, third-teamers David Lee and Paul George, not to mention others including Noah and Stephen Curry.

Jefferson finished the season with 17.8 points and 9.4 rebounds per game.

Who out there thought Jefferson was the NBA's best center in 2012-13? Your guess is as good as mine.

Here are the full All-NBA teams, as announced today by the NBA:
