Newark, N.J. — Jazz guard Raja Bell will not dress Monday night against the Nets and will soon travel to Miami to receive a third opinion on his left knee. Bell won't be with the Jazz when they play at Boston on Wednesday.
Bell has missed Utah's last six games and sat out 10 contests from Feb. 20 to March 20. He'll be evaluated by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' team doctor in Miami.
Bell, 35, is dealing with lingering pain in his knee. He was initially told microfracture surgery would be required. He received a second opinion last week in the hope of playing through the pain and preventing surgery.
