Bell calls Jazz victory over Minnesota a big one

Some leftovers after the Jazz's 108-98 win over Minnesota on Saturday night at EnergySolutions Arena:
---
The Jazz have their first and only three-day break between games coming up. They don't play again until Wednesday against Toronto.
By holding off Minnesota, the Jazz avoided a two-game losing streak that would have spoiled the rare down time during this abbreviated season.
Utah lost to Dallas on Thursday night, 94-91.
"We needed this one," said Raja Bell. "This is a much-improved team that came off a big win [Friday] night. And we came off a big loss. So we wanted to right that ship because you want to get as many wins at home as you can. Letting two slip away just before this little break would have been really disappointing."
Said Paul Millsap: "It was very important, especially against a younger team, to bounce back after a devastating loss like the other night. This was a big win for us -- a big game -- and we accepted the challenge."

Devin Harris played an energetic 22 minutes against the Timberwolves. He finished with nine points and three assists one day after national reports surfaced that the Jazz were shopping him.
Coach Tyrone Corbin talked at length Saturday about players in Harris' position.
"We try not to do business that way," Corbin said. "If we're doing something, we try to make our people aware of it first. Hopefully, the guys understand it's part of the business and ... they see what's going on. The media, being the way it is and the coverage stories get, some of it is real and some of it's not. That' s just part of the business we're in.
"I've been a player. I've been traded -- heard rumors of being traded or cut. So you know what? You just have to come into work and say, 'This is where I am until I'm somewhere else.' ... There's always talk and the possibility of being traded. But it's just out there. It's just part of the business. You have to control what you can control and that's playing as well as you can where you are right now."

It didn't sound like Minnesota coach Rick Adelman was thrilled by the way the game was called.
The Jazz owned a 29-21 edge in free-throw attempts. Minnesota did not get to the line in the fourth quarter.
"It was a physical game," Adelman said. "That's the way they play. They come out and they're going to do a lot of grabbing, holding, bumping and we have to find a way -- if it's not called -- to play through it. We've got to find a way to play that type of game. Too many times tonight, we let it affect us too much. You've got to learn how to do that. Every night is different."

Briefly: Kevin Love recorded a double-double in Minnesota's first 15 games. But he managed only 15 points and eight rebounds against Utah, snapping the streak. ... Bell's 12 points matched a season-high. ... Jazz forward Josh Howard missed his fourth straight game with a quad strain. ... The Jazz are 6-1 when they score at least 100 points.
