At his post-shootaround meeting with the media, Jazz coach Tyrone Corbin confirmed that Derrick Favors (ankle) will play in tonight's 8:30 p.m. game against Dallas at EnergySolutions Arena.Josh Howard (quad) won't play and Jamaal Tinsley (dermatitis) will be a game-time decision. For the Mavericks, Vince Carter (foot) won't play. —-

Corbin also touched on other subjects, including the Mavs' 8-7 start, the Jazz's balance and what playing on national TV means to his team.— Dallas has "... changed personnel. But they are still the reigning champion. Until somebody knocks them off, they are still the team to beat. They've struggled a little bit coming out of the box, but the last few games ... they are playing better. They're getting used to their personnel. Like I said, they are the reigning champions so they will get it figured out. It takes awhile to get used to new guys and they've struggled with that early in the season. But, like I said, I think they are starting to work their way through it."— The Jazz, who have six players averaging at least eight points a game, are "... just a group of guys working to get better. We're not worrying about numbers. We're not worrying about anything but winning ball games. That's how we want to continue to approach the game. ... Different guys on different nights. As long as we continue to get that group effort, we have a chance to win."—- Asked about being on TNT, Corbin said, "As a player — and I've been there — you put a little extra on it because of the national audience. But most of the games now days are nationally televised games. You have the DirecTV package; everybody sees them. So you're on some kind of coverage every night. But TNT coming in, it makes it a little different. They changed the time of the game because of national TV. So it's a different approach to it. I just wish our guys will just come out — and I think they will — just come out and play like a regular game." — Steve Luhm
