San Antonio — Al Jefferson (inflamed right ankle) said he will play Saturday night against the San Antonio Spurs.

Jazz coach Tyrone Corbin said if Jefferson's active he'll start. Thus, Utah is expected to use a first unit of Devin Harris, Raja Bell, Gordon Hayward, Paul Millsap and Jefferson.

Jefferson didn't play Friday during the Jazz's 102-99 home win against Philadelphia. Derrick Favors started in his place, recording a career-high 20 points and 11 rebounds. Favors will back up Millsap and Jefferson against the Spurs.

Jefferson wasn't activated until 45 minutes before tipoff. He went through pregame warmups and received at least two rounds of treatment.Brian T. SmithTwitter: @tribjazz
