Interview — Jazz fans ask Qs, Jeremy Evans answers
Published on Oct 5, 2011 10:51PM

Jazz forward Jeremy Evans, who is competing in the Impact Basketball League in Las Vegas, answers questions submitted by fans via Twitter.

Evans on whether he would've attempted to become a professional artist if he'd not entered the NBA: Probably look into architecture. Because I know playing basketball I wouldn't have been able to pass the classes as far as the math goes. That's really hard to do, especially if you want to pass with all As. You never fail at what you're doing, so that's really the only reason I didn't go into that. … Maybe one day when I'm older I could do architecture. Still do murals and painting.

NBA idols when he was growing up:
Of course, everybody likes Michael Jordan. And then I also like Shaq, just because he's big. And then probably [Kevin Garnett]. KG, he's a little different than I expected. But I like him, too.

How are Jerry Sloan and Tyrone Corbin comparable and different as coaches: Well, playing with coach Sloan, legendary coach and everybody says he's very, very hard. And I just went in and tried to be a player and do what I'm used to doing. I just thought he was a good coach. As far as coach Corbin, when coach Sloan was there [Corbin] was always working with us. So it's like it's the same way, he's just in a different position with us.

Favorite place to eat in Salt Lake City: Ooh. Ever since they gave me this Cafe Rio card, I've been trying to use that because I don't want to waste it. They give me so much money on this card I'm trying to use it up. Just be respectful. They gave it to us, I'm using it.

Gordon Hayward, C.J. Miles, Alec Burks and Derrick Favors use Twitter. Why not you: [Laughs] That's a good question. I don't know about Twitter yet. I'm still trying to figure it out. Maybe one day. Especially with my art, it would be cool to show everyone what's going on and stuff like this, coming out to watch the games. I'll leave that to them right now.
