Jimmer Fredette will soon be wearing a Jazz uniform — for an NBA Draft workout.
Utah is scheduled to watch Fredette (Brigham Young), Kemba Walker (Connecticut), Josh Harrellson (Kentucky), Senario Hillman (Alabama), Malcolm Lee (UCLA) and Paul Carter (Chicago) on Wednesday. It is the third session the Jazz will hold at their Salt Lake City-based training facility, and the biggest to date.
Fredette's workout against Walker has long been planned. The duo hold mutual respect for each other, while Fredette wants to prove that he belongs among the top tier of point guards who will be selected in the 2011 draft.
Fredette's stock is rising with just nine days remaining before the June 23 draft. He has already worked out for Indiana, New York, Sacramento and Phoenix, and is expected to be taken between the 7-20 picks.
The Jazz hold the Nos. 3 and 12 selections in the draft. Walker is vying with former Kentucky standout Brandon Knight for the third pick, while Fredette could come into play with Utah's No. 12 selection.
The Jazz have already worked out Turkish center Enes Kanter, and key Utah draft personnel spent last week viewing big-name international prospects such as Jan Vesely and Bismack Biyombo.
