More from Chicago Bull power forward Carlos Boozer, whose team faces the Jazz on Wednesday night at EnergySolutions Arena:— On what he liked about playing six seasons for Utah coach Jerry Sloan: "Everything. He's one of those real dudes. So many people out there are fake. They say one thing to your face and they say something else behind your back. Jerry wasn't that way. Jerry would say like it is right in front of your face. ... Great coach. Great friend. One of those type of guys you can relate to because he's a regular guy. Even though he's in the Hall of Fame, you wouldn't know it if you met him on the street. Great legacy. Every game he coaches is like a record night. But he doesn't want any of the accolades. He just wants his team to be successful. He doesn't want to be in front of cameras. ... He just wants to coach his team."— On playing the Jazz, who have struggled lately:"They aren't struggling. They're just having a little lull. They are still playing well. You know how it is in the West. Two [wins] and you're the third seed and two [losses] you're in eighth. Everybody is really good in the West. But they are still a very talented team. A lot of talent on that team. Very well-coached. ... They'll be fine, down the stretch of the season."— On Jazz point guard Deron Williams:"D-Will is playing out of his mind again, which is normal for him. ... He was one of those guys that came into practice every day and worked his butt off and you could see him progress every year. He got vastly better than the year before. He's a natural leader, too. He always had that. He was always self-assured and very confident. You could just see his game improve. He got himself in shape over and over again. Always came in in great shape ... [and] always hit big shots. He's a star player and, to his own credit, he's very highly motivated."— On whether or not there is pressure to play well in his homecoming game: "I just play. I've been in a lot of games. I was in a similar situation going back to Cleveland. I've played a lot of basketball games in my career so I'm more prepared for it than some people may think."— Comparing Williams to Derrick Rose, Chicago's All-Star point guard:"Different guys. Different players. D-Rose is probably one of the top five or six scorers in the league, hands down. Any night he can score with the best of them. ... D-Will probably has the best vision of any point guard in the league. ... Two very different guys. Both guys have a great hunger to win. Great desire. But they have two different styles. ... It ought to be one hell of a match-up."—- Boozer and the Bulls come off a 109-103 loss at Portland, but they still own the third-best record in the Eastern Conference behind Boston and Miami.Referring to Rose and center Joakim Noah, who is sidelined with a hand injury, Williams said, "They have a good team. ...D-Rose has stepped up and is one of the best point guards in the game. They have a strong team. Booz has definitely helped those guys out. And they'll be even better when they get Noah back."—-Williams on the reception Carlos Boozer will receive from Jazz fans:"He'll get booed, but it will sound like, 'Booz.' So I don't know. I'm sure there will be some mixed reactions. Some people love Booz. Some people hate him. But he did a lot for this franchise — won a lot of games when he was here and was a great teammate."—-Williams, on the Jazz's come-from-behind 107-104 win over the Kings on Monday night: "It was good we pulled out the game. Sacramento is playing good. Every team plays good at this point of the season. You look around the league and the teams with the bad records are winning games right now because they've been together for awhile. We have to realize, every night we step on the court, we have compete against whoever it is. I thought we did a good job of that [Monday] night — closing out the game, making stops, making some adjustments [by] going to that zone — and we got a good win." —-Andrei Kirilenko returned from an ankle injury against Sacramento and finished with 10 points, eight rebounds, three blocked shots and two assists. "We need Andrei," said Sloan. "He gives us another guy on the floor who can pass the ball. Paul [Millsap] got in foul trouble and I thought he got some big rebounds for us and some free throws that helped us win the game. We need all the help we can get, to be honest about it. Whatever it takes. Whatever we have to do to try and make it work."— Steve Luhm
