Inversion season has arrived, prompting Utahns to once again cough out complaints through gasps of toxic ... "air."

Many people are also taking to social media to express disgust with the unhealthy conditions, and I've complied a few of their tweets and pictures in this gallery. Of particular note is the inversion's own parody Twitter account, which was started Friday; typically you only see these parody Twitter accounts when something — an escaped snake, Angelina Jolie's leg — has gained a certain critical mass of cultural attention. So the inversion is putting us on the map, at least.

It's also telling that as I searched for terms like "pollution" and "smog," the only place with more results than Utah was China. So, this is the world we live in now; we're only better than the absolute worst place ever for air quality.
