If you follow the spine of the Rocky Mountains far enough to the north, it'll eventually take you to the glimmering emerald skies of Canada.

The video above captures those skies in 1,500 photographs. Shot and posted online by Richard Gottardo, the video shows the Aurora Borealis waving over the peaks of the Canadian Rockies. Gottardo uploaded the video Sunday and, according to its description, he spent seven hours shooting it.

Gottardo has a website with information about his work. The video also has been uploaded to YouTube, for those preferring that to Vimeo.
