"Call of Duty: Ghost's" cut-and-paste cost-cutting
Gee, after all the BILLIONS of dollars that Activision and developer Infinity Ward have made selling "Call of Duty" the last several years, you'd think they wouldn't just copy and paste animations to their newest game.
The latest version of the video game franchise, "Call of Duty: Ghosts," was released Tuesday, and as predicted, it made a boatload of money. Publisher Activision sold $1 billion worth of copies to retailers in just the first day. Take that Hollywood!
And then someone discovered that the game's developer, Infinity Ward, was too lazy to create new animations for one sequence, which programmers apparently just copied from their earlier "Call of Duty" game, "Modern Warfare 2."
You make billions and you still cut corners. That's Corporate America's mantra.
