Adorable baby panda needs a name, Smithsonian asks you to give her one

An explosion of cute happened in August: a baby panda was born in Washington, D.C., ushering in an era of melted hearts and world peace.

This baby panda still doesn’t have a name, and her keepers at the Smithsonian National Zoo are waiting until she’s 100 days old to give her one. They’re also letting the public decide her name, via an online vote.

The possible names have been narrowed down to five choices that mean things like "Precious, treasure" and "Darling, delicate flower." As an added bonus, the voting website includes recordings of the names’ pronunciation in Chinese.

The winning name will be announced Dec. 1. The video above shows the baby panda from her earliest days, and if you don’t feel like a ball of gooey goodness by about 1:20 in, well, then your heart is made of stone.

To vote on the baby panda’s name and for more information, visit the Smithsonian’s website.
