Directions • From State Road 59, turn east in Hildale onto Utah Avenue. Follow it 2.1 miles. It becomes Canyon Street. Continue eight-tenths of a mile as the street winds to the north. Then turn east again and follow the dirt road to the north for another 1.8 miles. The trail head is a large dirt spot at Water Canyon Reservoir. Set your GPS to coordinates 37.037889 -112.955283.

Water had something to do with carving those red mountains of southwest Utah, and you'll see some of that erosion at work in Water Canyon. From the trail head, follow the trail into the slot canyon. There are moderate elevation gains. Watch your footing as you arrive at the small waterfall that runs through the slot. At 1.28 miles is a plateau that's a good stopping point and has views of the valley below. Destination plateau
