Outdoor Retailer Gear Preview: DAS parka and pants from Patagonia

Patagonia broke with its norm at the 2012 Summer Market Outdoor Retailer in Salt Lake City by showing a winter item during the summer show. Recognizing that outdoor adventurers often travel to different hemispheres with the opposite season, Patagonia decided to highlight the DAS parka and pants. Designers worked for a better fit of the alpinists gear. Company representatives say the DAS line is the first to mix Primalogt Synergy and Primaloft One for warmth and compressibility. The parka ($299) is available in men's and women's specific models. The pants run $199.
