Published on Jun 12, 2012 04:41PM
Saturday is National Get Outdoors Day!
To mark the occasion, the National Park Service and the U.S. Forest Service will waive admission fees.
Other activities are planned in central and southern Utah.
The Manti-La Sal National Forest is hosting a volunteer day to improve the Corner Canyon and Second Water trails. It also is encouraging hikers to take to the trails; you can use the forest's maps and trail descriptions to plan your trip.
Celebrations will continue the following week at the Venture Outdoors Festival in Millcreek Township.
Update:
In Ivins, the Dixie/Arizona Strip Interpretive Association is planning an array of exhibits and activities June 16 at the Tuacahn Amphitheater near Snow Canyon State Park. Details here.
We will post more about those events soon.
