One of the most-popular spots in Arches National Park may be able to handle more visitors.

Staff at the park on Wednesday announced improvements to the trail system in The Windows. According to a post on the href="http://www.facebook.com/ArchesNationalPark?sk=nf" target="_blank">Arches Facebook page, crews "added several hundred feet of accessible trail" and a parking spot and ramp that is compliant with the Americans With Disabilities Act.

"Visitors confined to wheelchairs now have a loftier perch from which to gaze at a spectacular collection of arches," park staff wrote on Facebook. "And since this project was funded entirely with entrance fee money, please give yourself a pat on the back for a job well done."

Staff also posted the attached photograph of the new parking spot.

Earlier this year, the National Park Service announced href="http://www.sltrib.com/sltrib/blogshiking/53608469-150/park-arches-trail-service.html.csp" target="_blank">a new trail outside Arches.
