Much as it pains me to say anything critical of any institution called WSU (as I am a proud graduate of Wichita State University), some things must be said:

— The choices we make — By George Pyle | The Salt Lake TribuneThe folks who run Weber State University made a choice. They named the school's new family support program the Boyd K. and Donna S. Packer Center for Family and Community Education.......But some people have a little trouble with the name university officials chose. And, last week, the university brass chose to dismiss a professor who was among those voicing a complaint.......[Jared] Lisonbee was among those who thought, quite reasonably, that naming a collection of programs aimed at helping all kinds of families after a man who is so very vocal about his belief that there should be only one kind of family was, well, awkward. Especially at a university that is taxpayer-supported and, supposedly, secular in nature. ...... The people who run Weber State University do have a choice. And there seems little doubt that they've made a couple of poor ones.
