A federal judge in Utah is now weighing motions for summary judgment in a lawsuit challenging the state's ban on sanctioning or recognizing same-sex marriages. In court briefs and during a hearing Wednesday, both sides in the dispute referenced various cases it believes U.S. District Court Judge Robert J. Shelby should use as guides for settling the question.
