Safety 1st is recalling cabinet locks sold from 2004 through last month at major retail stores. Go HERE to read the full recall announcement. The locks are designed to keep small children out of cabinets containing chemicals and other dangerous items in the home. The recall stems from the fact that children ages 9 months and 5 years have been able to disengage the locks and gain access to cabinets. Some children swallowed dishwashing detergent, window cleaner and oven cleaner and had to be treated at hospital emergency rooms.
