Mendenhall, Hill, Williams headline BYU's Big Blue Bash on Saturday

Passing along some information regarding Saturday's Big Blue Bash in Salt Lake City for Cougar fans and supporters:

The 9th Annual Big Blue Bash, a pre-season BYU football party, will feature Bronco Mendenhall, Taysom Hill, and other current players and past BYU greats.

The event is for all Cougar fans, and is hosted by the BYU Cougar Club’s Salt Lake Chapter. It will be held at the Sheraton Hotel in Salt Lake City, 150 West 500 South, on Saturday, August 23, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Parking in the hotel’s parking area is free with validation.

Admission is only $5 if paid in advance and $10 at the door. Fans must RSVP and pay no later than Wednesday, August 21 to get the $5 rate.

In addition to Bronco Mendenhall and Taysom Hill, others players participating will include Jamaal Williams, Craig Bills, Bronson Kaufusi, and former Cougar and NFL player Lee Johnson.

KSL’s "Voice of the Cougars" Greg Wrubell and former Cougar quarterback Blaine Fowler will be the emcees for the evening.

The new football t-shirt will be on sale at the event for $10 to $15.

The reception starts at 7:00 p.m. and includes door prizes, light hors d’oeuvres, autographs, music, trivia, a silent auction of memorabilia, Cosmo, and the BYU Cheer Squad.

Following the reception, from 7:40 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and Coach Mendenhall and the players will speak and video highlights will be shown.

All BYU fans are invited to attend the Big Blue Bash, and wear casual BYU attire. Attendance at last year’s event was over 700.

Past speakers at the Big Blue Bash have included Ty Detmer, Chad Lewis, Jason Buck, John Beck, Bryan Kehl, Eric Drage, James Dye, Coach Bronco Mendenhall, Coach Paul Tidwell, Coach Robert Anae, Setema Gali, Reno Mahe, Austin Collie, Max Hall, Scott Johnson, Andrew George, JJ Di Luigi, Brian Logan, Rob Morris, Bryan Kariya, Romney Fuga, and Athletic Director Tom Holmoe.
