Kickoff times and/or television broadcast plans are now known for eight of BYU's 12 football games in the 2014 season. Wednesday, BYU announced kickoff times and broadcast plans for the Houston, Utah State and Savannah State games. The bad news, at least for fans who don't like late-night games and members of the media with deadlines, is that the Utah State at BYU game on Friday, Oct. 3, won't kick off until 8:15 p.m. MDT. At least the game will be televised by ESPN. Before that, the Cougars will play host to Houston on Thursday, Sept. 11. That game will also air on ESPN, but will begin at 7 p.m. MDT. Finally, it was announced Wednesday that BYU's game against an Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) foe, Savannah State, will kick off at 1 p.m. MDT and be televised by BYUtv. If you are keeping score at home, five games will be on an ESPN platform; The BYU at Central Florida game will be televised by ESPN on Oct. 9, a Thursday, but an exact kickoff time has not been announced.
