An elderly gentleman once famously interrupted BYU football coach Bronco Mendenhall at a boosters gathering by telling the coach that the Cougars don't play football games on Saturday afternoons anymore. Sometimes, they don't even play on Saturdays. No fewer than five BYU football games this fall will be played on non-Saturdays with the announcement Thursday morning that BYU's October game at Boise State has been moved to Friday, Oct. 24. The game will kick off at 7 p.m. MT and will be televised by ESPN or ESPN2. It was originally scheduled to be played on Saturday, Oct. 25.

The Cougars' other non-Saturday games: * Friday, Aug. 29 at Connecticut * Thursday, Sept. 11 vs. Houston in Provo * Friday, Oct. 3 vs. Utah State in Provo * Thursday, Oct. 9 at Central Florida BYU defeated Boise State 37-20 last year to record its first win in the series that began in 2003-2004 and was revived in 2012. Boise State leads the series 3-1. Four BYU games in 2014, to date, will be nationally televised by ESPN or ESPN2. The others are at Connecticut, Houston, and at Central Florida.
