Passing along the information for Saturday's 8th Annual Big Blue Bash at the Marriott Downtown Hotel in Salt Lake City. Here's the news release: This Saturday's 8th Annual Big Blue Bash, a pre-season BYU football party, will feature Bronco Mendenhall, athletic director Tom Holmoe, and past BYU greats and current players, including J.D. Falslev.The event is for all Cougar fans, and is hosted by the BYU Cougar Club's Salt Lake Chapter. It will be held at the Marriott Downtown Hotel in Salt Lake City, 75 S. West Temple, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Parking in the hotel's underground parking area is free with validation. Admission is only $5 if paid in advance and is $10 at the door. Fans must RSVP and pay no later than Wednesday, August 21, to get the $5 rate.To RSVP, please call the Cougar Club Office at 1-800-426-4298.KSL's Greg Wrubell and former Cougar quarterback Blaine Fowler will be the emcees for the evening.The new football t-shirt will be on sale at the event for $10 to $15. This year's football poster will also be on sale.The reception starts at 7:00 p.m. and includes door prizes, light hors d'oeuvres, autographs, music, trivia, a silent auction of memorabilia, Cosmo and the BYU Cheer Squad. Following the reception, from 7:40 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Mendenhall, Holmoe, Falslev and others will speak and video highlights will be shown.All BYU fans are invited to attend the Big Blue Bash, and wear casual BYU attire.
