The first-ever meeting on the football field between BYU and MIddle Tennessee State will be televised on ESPNU, the television network and schools announced on Monday.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. MDT on Friday, Sept. 27 in Provo.
It will be the first of three Friday night games that BYU will play this season. The Cougars play at Utah State on Friday, Oct. 4 and play host to Boise State on Friday, Oct. 25.
The announcement means that television plans have been solidified for eight of BYU's 12 games this season.
Kickoff times and TV plans for the Utah, Georgia Tech, Houston and Wisconsin games have not been announced. The Houston and Wisconsin games are on the road.
As expected, BYU senior receiver Cody Hoffman was one of 75 receivers named to the 2013 Biletnikoff Award preseason watch list released Tuesday by the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation. The award recognizes the most outstanding receiver in college football.
Hoffman had 100 catches for 1,248 yards and 11 touchdowns as a junior. He needs 19 receptions, 538 receiving yards and three receiving touchdowns to become BYU's all-time leader in all three categories.
Ten semifinalists will be announced on Nov. 18, and three finalists will be selected on Nov. 25.
The winner will be announced Dec. 12 at the College Football Awards Show.

BYU junior Tyler Haws concluded his stint with Team USA at the World University Games in Kazan, Russia, on Tuesday with arguably his best performance of the eight-game run. Team USA went 6-2 in the Games, failing to make it to the medal round for the first time in 21 trips to the WUG.
Haws scored 10 points and had five rebounds, two assists and a steal as the U.S. defeated Finland 97-70 to go 6-2 and finish ninth overall.
Losses to Australia and Canada kept Team USA out of the medal round.
