BYU has been invited to play in the CBE Hall of Fame Classic in Kansas City, Mo., in November, the National Association of Basketball Coaches announced Thursday.

Football fans traveling to South Bend for the BYU-Notre Dame football game on Nov. 23 might be able to catch the basketball tournament on the way back, if they are so inclined.

The tournament's semifinals are Monday, Nov. 25 and the championship game/consolation game is Tuesday, Nov. 26.

ESPN will broadcast the games on of its networks.

The other teams in the field are Final Four participant Wichita State, Texas and DePaul.

Which team the Cougars will draw first has not been announced.

DePaul (11-21) and Texas (16-18) had losing seasons last year, while the Shockers, of course, played in SLC in second and third round NCAA Tournament games two weeks ago.

BYU senior forward Brandon Davies has been invited to play in the NABC's Division I College All-Star Game, which is Friday in Atlanta.

The all-star game is part of the NCAA's Final Four events and will be played at 3 p.m. MDT at the Georgia Dome.

Davies was selected to the East squad, which will be coached by Tennessee coach Cuonzo Martin. Iowa State's Fred Hoiberg will direct the West.
