It appears that the 12th opponent on BYU's 2013 football schedule — which athletic director Tom Holmoe has hinted could be released any day now — will be Idaho State.

Matt Gittins of Idaho television station KPVI News 6 reported on Twitter that the Cougars will play host to Idaho State on Nov. 16, 2013 at LaVell Edwards Stadium.

Idaho State visited Provo in 2011 and is an FCS school that competes in the Big Sky Conference with Weber State, Southern Utah and others.

Middle Tennessee State is supposed to play at BYU on Nov. 16, so that game presumably will be moved to one of BYU's other open weekends: Sept. 14, Sept. 28, Nov. 2 or Nov. 30.

Another issue regarding BYU's 2013 schedule involves Hawaii and the Mountain West Conference. The Cougars are scheduled to play at Hawaii on Dec. 7, but after San Diego State announced it was staying in the MWC earlier this week, MWC brass has said it would like to play the conference's first football championship game on that date.

Obviously, Hawaii has been down the past few years and is not likely to qualify for the game, but almost certainly school officials will need to have that date open. Just in case.
