Rose will issue injury update on BYU's Rogers on Friday

BYU basketball spokesperson Kyle Chilton said via text message Thursday night that coach Dave Rose will issue an update on the condition of BYU junior wing Stephen Rogers' injured knee on Friday.

Rogers re-injured the knee during practice on Thursday.

It is feared that Rogers suffered a torn meniscus in his knee and could be out for a month, maybe longer.

Asked about Rogers' status after practice Thursday, Rose expressed major concern.

"Stephen hurt his knee. And he's had a problem for about two weeks," Rose said. "He had to come out of the Utah game the other night because he bumped knees. But today it seemed pretty serious. He was in a lot of pain, and they took him to the hospital to have an MRI."

Rogers is averaging 9.9 points per game for the 8-2 Cougars, fourth-best on the team behind Noah Hartsock (17.3), Charles Abouo (12.3) and Brandon Davies (10.6).

Rogers is generally the first player off the bench for Rose's Cougars. His minutes will most likely go to freshman Damarcus Harrison or freshman Josh Sharp.
