Jimmer improves his golf game, but still finishes dead last
Well, Jimmer Fredette will always have basketball and some positive memories from his first celebrity golf tournament. What he doesn't have right now is a golf game. Fredette finished dead last (83rd place) at the American Century Championship golf tournament on Sunday afternoon, ending up with minus-88 points. Fredette had minus-30 on Friday, minus-28 on Saturday and minus-30 on Sunday. The worst he could have gotten each day was minus-36. Jay DeMarcus of the country music group Rascal Flatts finished second-to-last at minus-83, and Charles Barkley was third-to-last at minus-68. Soap opera star Jack Wagner won the tourney with 80 points and Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo was second with 77. "Final round was the best for me," Fredette noted on Twitter. "That was a lot of golf, but I had a great time. Next year, much improved." Although the tournament didn't use traditional golf scoring it went by the Stableford scoring system Jimmer said he shot a 104 on Saturday. Fredette was paired with Tim Tebow and Herm Edwards on Friday, and with Barkley on Saturday. Sunday, he played with comedian Kevin Nealon and NFL quarterback Trent Green.
