A joint collaboration between The Speedy Foundation and Utah Olympic Legacy Foundation called the Hurricane for Hope benefit event and big air show will return for its second year.

Scheduled for Saturday, August 24, the event will feature a silent auction, an Olympic athlete meet-and-greet reception, and a special evening big air performance by the Flying Ace All-Stars.

In anticipation of the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia, a number of winter and summer U.S. Olympians are expected to be in attendance. The event will open its doors at 6:30 P.M. There will be live music and an opportunity to meet and greet with Olympic athletes.

The special evening big air show will be performed by the Flying Ace All Stars and will start at 8 p.m. Tickets are available online at HurricaneforHope.com. All proceeds from this event will go towards developing and delivering community educational programs dedicated to understanding mental illness, fighting its stigma, preventing suicide through youth sport programs and inspire youth to participate in sports and enjoy the benefits of a healthy lifestyle. The inaugural event, held last August, drew close to 800 attendees and raised over $60,000 in contributions.

The "Jeret Speedy Peterson" award will be presented at the event in honor of the late Olympic medalist Jeret "Speedy" Peterson. Peterson took the silver medal at the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver for his signature trick 'The Hurricane.'

The event organizers are also seeking sponsors and donated items. For information on how to contribute to the event can be found online at http://www.HurricaneforHope.com. In lieu of attending the event, direct donations can also be made online. Contributions made to Hurricane for Hope may be eligible for tax deductions.
