Mandy Patinkin at Deer Valley: Prepare to die
The Utah Symphony will perform with the multi-talented Mandy Patinkin (with his trusty comrade Paul Ford on piano), and, amazingly, the 60-year-old tenor said he still loves it when people come up to him and recite his famous line from "The Princess Bride": "My name is Indigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die."
"I couldn't be happier," he said.
Patinkin has just been nominated for another Emmy for his role in "Homeland," which is another project he loves, and he the notoriety he receives from the show somehow has resulted in more symphony orchestras requesting his services.
Patinkin will sing a varied set that includes songs from some of his famous roles on Broadway (Georges Seurat in "Sunday in the Park with George" and Ché in the original Broadway production of "Evita") as well as other selections from The Great American Songbook.
And don't be surprised if he tries out Ford's recently orchestrated rendition of Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody," and Ford is Patinkin's inspiration. "I wouldn't be here without Paul," Patinkin said. "He's like the Library of Congress. Talk about a dance partner."
