One of Utah's best festivals is fast approaching: Uncle Uncanny's 10th Annual Summer Sessions wull be held Aug. 9 through 11 at River's Edge at Deer Park Resort (7000 N. Old Highway 40, Heber City).

The official event name, by the way, is the Wasatch & Squatters Breweries present Uncle Uncanny's 10th Annual Summer Sessions.With 60+ bands & DJ's on three stages over three days, the event has a web site (http://www.uncleuncannys.com) and for advance tickets, go to: http://ticketcake.com/node/4796John Brown's Body will top the bill. Additional headliners include New York based DJ Logic, plus The Willie Waldman Project & Brian Jordan.According to a press release: "Title sponsors this year, Wasatch & Squatters Breweries are proud supporters of the Summer Sessions. In fact, they love Uncle Uncanny so much, they've named a Utah craft beer in his honor and introduced 'Uncle Uncanny Sessions' Ale, tagged as 'The official beer of Utah live music' now available on draft in select Utah locations."This year's theme is"X Marks the Spot," a pirate party to celebrate the 10th year. Everyone is encouaged to dress up in pirate costumes and there will be parades around the entire camp bringing everyone out and ending at the main stage for Saturday night's headlining acts, including John Brown's Body.Thursday will be an early opening with the Family Jam hosted by select special guests. Friday highlights the area's bands such as Stonefed & Red Dog Revival. Saturday's line up includes some of the U's most popular bands: The Rugs, Triggers and Slips, Jr.& Transportation, and Marinade.

On Sunday, they will be kicking off with their first annual Kids Talent Show and there will be more favorite local bands including Holy Water Buffalo and GiGi Love and an all-out Uncle Uncanny's family jam throughout the night hosted by Luke Benson.Returning this year will be Uniphi, The Jenny Lindsay Band, Sofa Sly, Afro Omega and more.
