Former Salt Lake City resident Bobby McFerrin will perform in Ogden at Peery's EgyptianTheater on March 25 at 7:30 p.m.as part of Weber State University's Cultural Affairs series.Tickets are available at weberstatetickets.com or 801-626-8500.His new album "spirityouall" is due April 16, 2013 from Sony Masterworks and is his exploration of Americana.

"spirityouall" features seven classic spirituals, a cover (Bob Dylan's I Shall Be Released), and five original tunes (ranging from a hoedown to a polemic anthem to a down-and-dirty blues setting of Psalm 25:15). The stellar band on the album includes Esperanza Spalding (who sings with Bobby on three tracks) and Larry Grenadier on bass, multi-instrumentalist Larry Campbell, drummers Ali Jackson and Charley Drayton, and accordionist/keyboard wizard/arranger/musical director Gil Goldstein.
