Barlow Bradford will conduct the Utah Chamber Artists choir and orchestra in the third concert of their season on Monday, February 25.
The concert will be at 7:30 p.m. in Libby Gardner Concert Hall on the University of Utah campus.
The choir and orchestra will perform two lesser-known works by Felix Mendelssohn: Psalms 114 & 115, which coincides well with the Utah Symphony performing a Mendelssohn symphony cycle this season.
Psalm 115 features solos by Melissa Dawson, soprano; Brian Stucki, tenor; and Michael Chipman, baritone. Psalm 114 calls for a double choir. The University of Utah Chamber Choir will join forces with the Utah Chamber Artists choir for this piece.
Bradford has also chosen three of his favorites from among the many choral composers coming out of Minnesota (called "The Land of a Thousand Choirs" by some) has a strong choral tradition. The choir will sing music of Abbie Betinis, Stephen Paulus, and Timothy Takach.
