Pop star and Mormon Tabernacle Choir member Alex Boyé will be the speaker and performer for LDS Dems' second annual Martin Luther King Jr. Service Weekend.

The LDS Dems, an official caucus of the Utah Democratic Party, chose to focus on the topic of immigration for this service weekend and fireside.

The fireside will be at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 20 in the auditorium (room 1110) of the new Spencer Fox Eccles Business Building at the University of Utah.

The fireside is open to the public.On Saturday, Jan. 19 from 10 a.m. - noon, residents of northern Utah are invited to gather at the Guadalupe School in Salt Lake City to read stories and provide brunch for 125 underprivileged students and their parents. English is a second language for many of this school's students. The Guadalupe School is located at: 340 S. Goshen Street in Salt Lake City.
