Cedar City's Groovacious indie record store will celebrates its 20th anniversary with a concert, trivia and prizes this Friday, Nov. 9.

The store is located at 173 N. 100 W. in Cedar City.On November 9, 1992, Groovacious opened its doors for the first time by Tim and Lisa Cretsinger, who had moved from Portland to Salem, Oregon to open their store. After eight successful years with their business, they fell in love with southern Utah and decided to move their store to Cedar City in October of 2000.2012 marks 38 years that Tim has been in the music business and 22 years for Lisa."I've seen a lot change in thirty-eight years, remarks Tim in a press release. "But one thing has never changed - that is customer service. People still respond to good customer service. No matter what anybody says, you can't get that over the internet and a download will never say 'thanks for doing business with me'. Whatever shape technology takes, good human interaction can never be replaced."To give a special thanks to those who have kept them going for the last twenty years, Groovacious will offer a 20-percent discount all day Friday.

A special concert performance by Steven Swift and friends, preceded by "Groovacious First Memories" by Charles Cuthbertson, will be held at 7 p.m. with prize drawings and trivia throughout the show. There will be refreshments served during the event. For information, call Tim of Lisa at 435-867-9800.
