"If The Hudson Overflows," which features backing vocals by Aimee Driver and David "Nova" Nowakowski from Scars on 45, was written months ago for Goldspot's forthcoming album due out in 2013.

But after witnessing the devastation to Goldspot frontman Siddhartha Khosla's hometown of Hoboken, the band decided to release the single now so that proceeds could assist the families and communities impacted by Superstorm Sandy.

Fans can stream and share "If The Hudson Overflows" via Soundcloud at the link below:

"When I wrote this song, it was really just a love song for my wife. In the song, the Hudson overflowing was supposed to be a metaphor for tough times - I never envisioned that the Hudson would actually flood the streets around my home," says Khosla in a press release. "My heart goes out to the victims of this disaster, not just in my hometown of Hoboken, but everywhere on the East Coast."
