Just because Halloween has ended doesn't mean there isn't good nightlife to enjoy. Here's a few over the coming week:
A Bar Named Sue
The club is holding its "Pray for Powder" night, a fundraiser for the Utah Avalanche Center. Raffles start at 8 p.m. for plentiful prizes, and msuic will be provided by Rage Against the Supremes. Another matter is the idea of praying for snow. With so little summer in Utah, we should be praying for that, instead. But that’s just me.

Claim Jumper Restaurant
For only a $10 cover charge, come on in and watch the Claim Jumper Jam Session, attended by some of your favorites at the city’s annual Cowboy Poetry Gathering and Buckaroo Fair. Be assured that cocktail weenies and canned pork and beans cooked over a campfire will not be on the menu.

The Depot
The Gateway’s music venue will host The X-Dance Film Festival Launch Party, featuring the Expansion Sound System ( D.J. Babu and Rakaa of Dilated Peoples) with special guests Chali 2na and Common Market. Don’t confuse this with the XXX-Dance Film Festival, which is held in my buddy’s basement.

The Westerner
Country-rapper Colt Ford, who co-wrote Jason Aldean’s "Dirt Road Anthem," headlines with J.J. Lawhorn opening. Lawhorn lives in rural Virginia and cites hunting, fishing, and working on his truck as just a few of his hobbies. On second thought, using the adjective "rural" in the previous sentence seems redundant.
