The Choral Arts Society of Utah (featuring Sterling Poulson as music director) will be partnering with the University of Utah's College of Fine Arts Choral Studies (under the direction of Barlow Bradford, the Ellen Neilson Barnes Presidential Endowed Chair for Choral Studies) so that graduate students will have the opportunity to work with the 110-voice choir in the preparation and presentation of required choral recitals.
The current plan is to collaborate twice a year for the CASU's Fall and Spring concerts.
This year's Fall Concert features a recital prepared by graduate student Sonja Sperling, currently working on her Doctorate of Musical Arts degree.
The concert, featuring a performance of Felix Mendelssohn's "Psalm 42,: will be at the First Presbyterian Church of Salt Lake (12 C Street) on October 13 at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets are $10 at the door.
